Congratulations Gombert Chorus!

Congratulation on a fantastic concert!  I am so proud of our 4th and 5th grade chorus members. We will have no rehearsal Tuesday morning, December 20.  Enjoy a morning to sleep in!  We start up again Tuesday, January 10th.  Happy New Year!

Chorus Concert

Our first 4th/5th grade chorus concert is quickly approaching!  It will be Thursday, December 15^th at 6:30pm in the Gombert gym.  Students need to report to the music room at 6:00pm to warm-up.  Parents may go to the gym at that time. 

Concert attire is black shoes, black pants (with black socks) or a skirt, and a nice white top.  (i.e. blouse, polo shirt).  During school that day, students should wear jeans and a Gombert shirt or Gombert colors for the school performance.

After winter break, chorus will start up again on Tuesday, January 10^th.

Build a School!

The Gombert Chorus is participating in a project to help build a school in Tanzania, Africa.  We will be taping a performance in rehearsal next week on November 8th.  Click on the link for a form with more information and permission to participate.  This is a fantastic opportunity for our chorus!!!

Curriculum Night is coming up on Thursday, September 15th, from 6:30-8:00pm.  I will be walking around the LMC to answer questions about the music program.  See you there!

Orientation

Thank you to all of you who attended band, orchestra, and chorus orientation last night.  I hope that you gained some insight into the district's music program.  As a reminder, Prelude for band and orchestra has already begun and chorus begins on Tuesday, September 13th.

Parents of fourth and fifth graders interested in the District 204 Band, Orchestra, and/or Choral music program should plan to attend the appropriate parent orientation.  Individual questions will follow the general presentation.

Identical presentations will take place at the same time at Neuqua and Metea Valley High School for your convenience.  Parents may attend at any of the locations., although I will only be attending the Waubonsie session.

Welcome Back

A Close to the Year

Thank you to Miss Walsh who has taken over for me these past couple of months as I've been out on maternity leave.  My son, Cole August, was born on March 23, 2011.  He has been an absolute joy!!!

I look forward to seeing all of my students again in the fall.  For my lovely, talented fifth graders, good luck on your entrance into middle school.  I will miss you all!  Please come back and visit any time.

First Grade Musical

Congratulations to our wonderful first graders on a fantastic performance of Once Upon a Lily Pad!  We are all so proud of you for getting on stage in front of the school and your families and putting on such a great show.  You should all be so proud of yourselves!

January Updates

January Updates are now posted on each grade's page found on the left of your screen.  Look to see what your students have been up to this past month and be sure to ask them about the highlighted vocabulary words!

First Grade Musical

First grade musical forms are going home today!  Look for a green sheet.  Please fill out the bottom portion of the form and return it to school by next Friday, February 4th.  The date of the musical is March 3rd at 7:00pm for family and friends in the Gombert gym.  Students are in the process of learning the many musical numbers from the show and are so excited to share what they have learned with all of you!
