Curriculum Overview
In fourth grade, students will continue to work on their music exploration or skills through playing instruments. They also explore harmony in music through singing rounds and simple descants, and by playing instrumental accompaniments and ostinati. They will explore different styles of music as well as music from other cultures; and discover how this can help them gain a better understanding of different people. Fourth grade students will focus on how instrument families can combine to creat large ensembles. Chorus is offered as an extra-curricular activity.
