Curriculum Overview
Fifth grade students will build on the concepts they have mastered up to this point. Students will play many instruments, including Hawaiian Ukulele. There is a focus on chord structure and reading music through the study of ethnic music. Students will explore many different styles of music from varying cultures. Fifth graders will study how instruments can be combined in creative ways to form small and large ensembles. Students may participate in Band, Orchestra, or Chorus as extra-curricular ensembles.
