Curriculum Overview
In second grade, students will continue to sight-read rhythmic and melody patterns. Second graders continue to study the form or pattern of music. They also continue to add music symbols to their growing repertoire of music theory knowledge. This includes basic dynamics, time signatures, repeat signs, and ties. Activities include playing Orff instruments and performing folk dances from America and other cultures. Second grade students will focus on learning about instruments from the string family.
